Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 22 October 2026
These terms apply to repair and maintenance services provided by TractorGP.
1. Our services
TractorGP provides inspection, diagnosis, repair and maintenance services for agricultural, construction and other machinery.
We aim to provide reliable repairs at clear, agreed prices.
2. Call-out charges
Every job is subject to a call-out charge. The amount will be disclosed and agreed with you before a technician is dispatched.
The call-out charge covers the technician's attendance and is payable once the technician attends, regardless of whether the repair is completed.
This includes circumstances where we identify additional faults, the repair proves uneconomical or impractical, or we withdraw our fixed-price quote.
The call-out charge is separate from the repair price unless expressly stated otherwise.
Your statutory rights remain unaffected, including where a charge is not legally payable because of cancellation rights or our failure to provide services with reasonable care and skill.
3. Fixed-price repairs
3.1 Quotes subject to diagnosis
Our fixed-price quotes are based on the information available when the quote is provided and are subject to confirmation following an on-site diagnosis.
Following diagnosis, we may confirm, revise or withdraw the quote if the machinery's condition or the work required differs materially from the information on which the quote was based.
You will not be obliged to accept a revised quote. If we withdraw the quote before repair work begins, no repair charge will apply. The agreed call-out charge will remain payable where legally permitted.
3.2 Unexpected complications during repair
Once a fixed-price quote has been confirmed and accepted, we will carry out the agreed repair for that price, subject to the following conditions.
If we discover unexpected faults, damage or complications that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand and that materially change the scope, cost, safety or feasibility of the agreed repair, we may suspend work and propose a revised quote.
If a revised quote is not agreed, we may discontinue the repair. We will not charge for the unfinished repair and will, at our expense, reassemble the machinery as closely as reasonably practicable to its previous condition, leaving it safe. The agreed call-out charge will remain payable where legally permitted.
We remain responsible for exercising reasonable care and skill and for any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
3.3 Scope of fixed-price repairs
A fixed-price quote covers only the specific fault or repair work expressly agreed with you, including the labour and parts specified in the quote.
It does not include diagnosing or repairing unrelated faults, additional defects or other problems with the machinery.
If additional faults are discovered during the repair, we will inform you and, where appropriate, provide a separate quote. We will not carry out or charge for additional repairs without your approval.
Where an additional fault materially affects our ability to complete the originally agreed repair, the provisions of Section 3.2 will apply.
3.4 Price guarantee
Once confirmed following diagnosis and accepted by you, we will not increase the agreed fixed price for the original scope of work except in the circumstances described above and with your approval.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
4. Payment
The agreed call-out charge is payable following the technician's attendance.
Payment for a completed repair is due on completion, unless otherwise agreed.
If we withdraw a fixed-price quote, you will not be charged for the unfinished repair. The agreed call-out charge will still apply, subject to your statutory rights.
5. Additional faults
Our repairs cover the specific faults or work agreed with you.
We are not responsible for unrelated faults, pre-existing defects or problems that arise independently of our work.
If we identify additional work, we will discuss it with you before proceeding.
6. Access and safety
You must provide reasonable access to the machinery and a safe working environment.
We may refuse, suspend or stop work where conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.
7. Our responsibility
We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill.
We are responsible for loss or damage caused by our failure to meet our legal obligations. We are not responsible for losses caused by unrelated faults or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
8. Cancellations
You may cancel a booking by contacting us. Any cancellation charges will be communicated and agreed in advance.
Where consumer cancellation rights apply by law, these will be honoured.
